Reason code

This code is used when a transaction is processed without adhering to Discover's authorization requirements. This non-compliance can occur due to:

• Processing a transaction without obtaining proper authorization.​
• Attempting to authorize a transaction after it has been processed.​
• Forcing a transaction through without proper authorization.​
• Re-swiping or retrying a card multiple times after an initial authorization decline.

These actions violate Discover's operating regulations and can lead to disputes under this reason code.

• Review Authorization Records: Examine your records to confirm whether proper authorization was obtained for the disputed transaction.
